Lavendar Blue, Dilly Dilly, Lavendar Green

This quilt was made in the early '90's. It's a big quilt and I haven't taken a good picture of it in it's entirety. (Later note - I just scanned a slide of this quilt and it is now at the top of this post.) Machine appliqued (satin stitch) and hand quilted, it has 25 blocks. Many times I wish I had done it in other colors. The pieced sashing really added a lot to it - and was a lot of work.

I don't think there is a single quilt that I have made that I would not have changed something or other if I had it to do again. Mostly, however, I am happy with my work and feel good that I have been able to make nice quilts and enjoy the process as well as the results. Some of the same blocks I do show up in more than one quilt occasionally. There are so many beautiful applique blocks - I have been saving them from magazines and books for many years and still love to find pretty new ones. So here is my Lavendar Blue, Dilly Dilly, Lavendar Green.(Click to enlarge)
