Kaleidoscopes

Thought you might enjoy some more kaleidoscopes - this time all made from this picture of a small quilt I made a few years ago.  I bought some additional shapes for my Kaleidoscope Kreator software and was playing with them the other day.   Lots of fun making the different patterns.  I have never really made anything from the program, but it would be wonderful for scrapbooking.  These could also be printed out on fabric and used in quilts or wallhangings.  Using photographs of family members is a lot of fun, also.
First one - pretty flower!

Another pretty flower - more ornate.

Yet another and

the final one.  All of these have a black background, but you can have it any color you wish.  Kind of like eating potato chips!   Here is a link to the company blog if you would like to check it out.  There are projects and a video of how these are made.  http://kaleidoscopecollections.com/blog/    (Click to enlarge)

Kaleidoscopes

Here is a picture I took of a pretty bouquet I got one day - I adore the colors.  I put the vase of flowers on the floor and took a picture straight down.  One day I used this in my Kaleidoscope program -

and here are three very pretty kaleidoscopes that I came up with.  Fun stuff - you can make thousands of different beauties if you so desire.  Just thought you might like to see the lovely colors and shapes. Fun to fiddle with once in a while.  (Click to enlarge)

Kaleidoscopes

Oh, so pretty!  My kaleidoscope program is amazing and comes up with some awesome kaleidoscopes.  I am posting four that I just did and all from the same little block which is the January block of my Tisket a Tasket wallhanging I did last year.
Just by moving the box around you come up with such wonderful variations.  There are dozens of shapes that you can use.

This one takes in one of the sashings that I used.

Isn't this a sweet one?  I could play for hours with this software but I had better get my old self busy and attempt to get something done.  How could a person ever be bored?  (Click to enlarge these beauties!)

Kaleidoscopes

When I changed computers last spring, I lost the program that I could make kaleidoscopes with.  It had been a download and there was no cd.   I only play with it - it's fascinating  so see the gorgeous kaleidoscopes that come out of a single picture.  Recently, I reordered a newer version and they gave me credit for the earlier one that I had downloaded so I have this fun "toy" again.  You could actually print out the segments on fabric and make a quilt, but I don't see that happening.  It's just fun to put a picture up and every time you move it just a little bit you have a different gorgeous image.     Both images, above and below, are from an old piece of unfinished needlepoint that I showed in an earlier post.  I think they are so pretty showing the wool stitches.

This is part of an old wallhanging I did a long time ago with an appliqued basket on a watercolor pieced background.  Love the way the background looks.  If you check closely, you can see a teddy bear under the basket.   (Click to enlarge)

Really Cool, Damp Weather

Thought I would have my flowers in by now, but so far they are just sitting on the patio patiently waiting to be put in their summer homes. I went out yesterday afternoon and got some more filler plants but didn't get anything planted. This morning we had quite a bit of rain and it has been damp and cool - kind of dank! House really feels a little chilly so I may just fire up my gas logs in a little bit.

So, instead of pictures of my newly planted containers, how about some kaleidoscopes made with pictures of some of the blocks from my floral quilt - which now has the borders on and will be ready for a quilt sandwich when I find some backing. Thought I would have enough of the background but it falls short.
Then below is a kaleidoscope of the pretty verbena I bought Monday. That is such a fun bit of software.I love the soft shades of pink - just beautiful. Will try to get planting done tomorrow.

Two Kaleidoscopes for Today

What a pretty day today - sun is shining after yet another round of snow this weekend. Probably 6 or 7 inches at least - - well, enough anyway. I did not leave the house over the weekend but that is never a problem for me as long as I have my projects and food. Today, however, I will go get groceries as the cupboard is getting bare and the snack drawer is empty! Can't have that!
Has been a long time since I made any kaleidoscopes - these are from a picture of the blue and green batik circle quilt that is waiting in the basement to be made into a quilt sandwich. This program is so fascinating to play with since you just move it a little bit and you have an entirely different pattern. And the shapes you use make such a difference, too. So here are two pretty ones. (Click to enlarge)

Working on How to Post Pictures with Text Between

I have been trying to figure out how to post pictures and have text between them. I wonder if I have figured it out!! If I have, it's been a long time getting there. Maybe I do have it - only going from bottom to top?

These are kaleidoscopes of a wallhanging I posted way, way back at the beginning called Bless Your Heart. (Click to enlarge)

How About a Couple of Kaleidoscopes?

From a little Sunbonnet Sue and Sam quilt I did using reproduction fabrics. Such a fascinating piece of software - you can get some incredibly beautiful kaleidoscopes in all shapes and sizes. (When I enlarged the little sunbonnet girl, I see that I have a little thread nest on her arm.)

More Kaleidoscopes

What a beautiful morning here in Michigan! A former neighbor of mine described this kind of day as "This is what heaven is like." Very lovely description of a lovely day. I have added some more of the kaleidoscopes. The top one is of a vintage magazine cover--I have a folder of lots of the covers - they are so great. Following that is one I took out my door on a snow morning, followed by one from a photo of ribbon embroidery - glorious! The last one is from one of many fuzzy scarves I crocheted a couple of Christmases ago. Aren't the kaleidoscopes fun? (Click to enlarge)

Kaleidoscope Kreator

I have this software on my pc called Kaleidoscope Kreator that is absolutely so much fun to play with. The segments of each one can be printed out individually or together. This is part of a New York Beauty quilt that I did. I have actually never made anything from the kaleidoscopes but there are amazing possibilities. Later I will put up some of snow scenes, fuzzy scarves, etc. What a fun way to play on the pc!

The one above is from my Attagirl Carol quilt and is in the dresden plate style. Lots of styles can be used and what is so fascinating is that by moving the template just a little over the image produces an entirely different result. I will add one that is actually a picture of some of the beautiful flowering kale. For now, I will add one more - from a picture of my granddaughter.
